Intrada Nr 5, „freue Dich sehr“

The Intrada No. 5 is a cheerful opening piece for church service for 4 brass instruments based on the chorale “Freue Dich sehr, oh meine Seele” by Joh. Seb. Bach.

In the cantabile part, the wide phrases should fill the space, the sound may be given time before the next phrase is played. All indicated accents should represent bells, these may be blown in different directions, the space may shape the sound.
The suggested instrumentation with „horn“ players is best suited to the
character of the piece. Alternatively, it can also be performed with 2 trp, horn (or trb.) and trombone. All the more attention must be paid to a soft interpretation of the cantabile part. A performance with 2 independently placed ensembles or even organ accompaniment is also very well conceivable.
